This module made a nice addition to my Behringer System 100 rack setup. Everything worked as designed save a few issues:
1. The Behringer Synthtribe 2.5.7 app constantly crashed and was unusable for configuring the CM1A. Going back to Synthtribe 2.5.5 worked perfectly. I reported the issue to Behringer so perhaps it will be rectified in the next release.
2. The scaling on the CM1A was terrible out of the box. It was unable to play two octaves in tune. This can be corrected using the calibration portion of the Synthtribe 2.5.5 app, but there are no instructions for this and Behringer support appear to be unaware this feature even exists. There is an incomplete diagram on the calibration page for the hookup to your DMM (you need a quality DMM with at least 3 decimal places of accuracy) and the process does not work well if you do not place a load (100KOhm resistor, for example) that approximates the impedance of the VCO you are calibrating the CM1A for.
After calibrating using Synthtribe with a suitable resistor across the DMM test leads it scales across 4 octaves quite well.
3. Does not play well with passive mults at all. This is common with any CV used for pitch control, but the CM1A is very sensitive to this when compared to other MIDI-CV modules I've tested. You need a buffered mult if you need to use the CV outs with more than one input each if you expect accurate scaling when controlling pitch.
None of the 'issues' I mentioned above are out of the ordinary for a MIDI-CV module in general, but could put off someone new to modular synths or cause them to return the module thinking it was faulty when it simply needed calibration, etc...
