This Harmonica by Seydel in D Major (2nd pos A Dom 7th for Blues).
I play a lot of "Chicago style Blues and this instrument will give me the chance to assess the Seydel Blues session vs the Hohner Blues harp,I have owned for some years, and also my cherished Hohner marine band Classic, which I have also owned for many years now.
The harmonica is solid precision workmanship, and one can feel this as one plays. I like the plastic comb and general build quality is very good - as you would expect from a tried and trusted harmonica manufacturer such as Seydel
The brass reeds are very easy to musically manipulate and the tone is superb and full.
Conversely, the plates on the instrument are undoubtedly good quality, but the end of the plates are a little sharp on the lips and that is my only criticism of the general build.
To cure this, I use a very light Emery paper to gently smooth them out. However, in certain cases one could imagine this might infringe the customers warranty.
In summary, I think Seydel should contemplate a little improvement on the final finish of the plates. But I am more than pleased with the Harmonica. Phil England.
