I've only gotten into keyboards/synths as of recent and decided to give the Miniverse a go... I was quite amazed. The bang for the buck is terrific and Cherry Audio makes a multitude of other virtual synth plugins which I'm currently testing out in demo mode. Buying the license in the Thomann shop and redeeming it with the click of a button in my DAW (Logic Pro X) was a piece of cake.
Virtual instruments will never replace the haptic satisfaction of tweaking knobs and flicking switches but what an amazing way to get into the world of synths with quality sound for a fraction of the price one would pay for an analog synth.
So I was browsing MusicRadar and encountered this review of this synth. The review gave soaring praise for this little synth and I became intrigued. After listening to a few sound previews I knew that I would like to have an incredibly accurate recreation of a Minimoog in my hands and I bought this softsynth.
The main selling point is the accuracy with which Cherry Audio has recreated the Minimoog. Everything is here, even the 440 Hz button you wouldn't need. Miniverse comes stacked with good presets, so if you are on the lazier side you can browse through them until you find what you need.
The only "con" that I can give to this synth is that it doesn't have any effects built in. But it isn't a con, because this is meant to be a recreation that is as accurate as possible.
And the best part?
This costs less than the Moog's official recreation.
I don't see any reason why you shouldn't own this synth, even if you are going to use it only a few times a year. You won't regret this purchase.
I’m really glad you’re happy with your purchase! I don’t usually use many plug-ins because I prefer Ableton’s tools, but I must admit that Cherry Audio is just what I needed for my new music productions. Its sounds and programs are truly awesome. Thank you! It would be great if I could have the synthesizer as a standalone feature instead of it being a plug-in.
