The Clearsonics Screens attenuate the direct sound of a drum kit allowing the mik'ed, more produced sound to be heard. Whilst the first delivery came damaged, Thomann's customer service was excellent and the replacement was perfect. The heavy duty nature of the screens do mean they are difficult to handle for a mobile product and I would recommend not lifting them alone. Other than that, they deliver what they promise.
I use it around my drum kit. It does a good job at reducing sound according to the people I played with.
I would recommend adding some absorption panels at least at the bottom so that not all the sound is reflected directly towards you.
It is heavy, so I wouldn't carry it everywhere, but it's perfect for the studio.
My only complaint is that the plastic holding the panel together is a bit fragile. The plastic cracked just a little bit on mine after moving the panels.
We ordered this drum shield from thomann, because it was much cheaper than anywhere else.
The shield is in a really good quality, but a little bit heavy.
Take note that you will need to use headphone monitor, because the shield reflects the sounds.
The most Common Drumshield for standard Drum-kit.
Looks good and and helps for damping acoustic drum-kits on stage.
Together with other products from Clearsonic it's an effective help!
if you want to separate the blur of instruments and the muddiness that drums add to this, then a drum screen is the best place to start. in live situations it is great for preventing the drums from bleeding into other mics.
the clearsonic 5 panel shield is perfect for wrapping around the front & sides of a standard size drum kit.
