Fender 880XL Dura-Tone

Nothing too fancy here, it is just a "value" string set. I found them perfect for a practice guitar or if spending money on more expensive strings is not justified.

All in all, the choice of strings is something very personal and the best advice I can give is just to give them a try. Another good option is to have a cheaper set like this as a spare in your gigbag.

The only obvious con of these strings is that you cannot expect a degree of durability as good as other brands like Elixir, but considering the price tag, this was also to be expected.

I am a gigging acoustic guitar player playing a mid range electro acoustic guitar mainly fingerstyle. These strings make my guitar sound better. The bright new string sound and the fresh new string feel last longer than any other strings I've used. These are not only fantastically priced they sound the best. They stay alive longer perfect for the live guitarist playing long acoustic sets. I would highly recomend trying these, just stick a set in your basket from another purchase to try. You will come back and buy more!!

Die Sorte meiner Akkustikgitarrensaiten stand eigentlich gar nicht zur Disposition.
Ich spiele schon seit Jahren immer wieder die gleichen, die für meinen Geschmack in der Qualität auch immer noch konkurrenzlos sind. Nur leider kosten die ca. 15 Euro pro Satz. So habe ich mich einzig vom Preis der Fender-Saiten hinreißen lassen, mal einen Satz zu bestellen und zu testen.
Zum Sound: Vorweg, Sound ist immer Geschmacksache. Für mich klingen sie dünn, metallisch und kraftlos, also fast so, als wenn man E-Gitarrensaiten auf eine Akkustik spannt.

Zur Verarbeitung: Die Stimmfestigkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig. Die Griffigkeit und Bespielbarkeit ist nicht so schlecht. Bei der Langlebigkeit des Sounds wird sie Saite ihrem Namen "Dura-Tone" nicht gerecht, denn der Klang verliert sehr schnell an Höhen und Brillianz und klingt dann nur noch dumpf und matt.
Fazit: Ich fühle mich in meiner eingangs erwähnten Erfahrung mal wieder bestätigt und würde diese Saiten nicht noch einmal kaufen.

Zu empfehlen sind sie auf Grund des günstigen Preises nur, wenn man nicht mehr Geld für einen guten Saitensatz ausgeben will, und soundmäßig nicht allzu große Ansprüche hat.
