I was told that these should work for 9.5" radius fingerboards. The problem is, they are bent to more or less exactly 9.5" radius. They really need to slightly more curved to avoid the ends popping up when hammering the frets into the board. Manually bending a longer piece of fret wire is no problem but it's a bit tricky with these short pieces.
I got a good result in the end but it was a bit more fiddly than I hoped for. Longer pieces of fret wire, or the pre cut frets from Stew Mac, are much easier to work with, I will not buy these again. At least not for a 9.5-10" radius board. I guess they would work better for a slightly flatter fingerboard like 12" but the product description really should specify this and Thomann should give better information when asked about it.
I bought these for my first refret job. The frets on my old guitar were worn out flat. Had to file them a little bit to level them out. I didn't think they would feel high profile but they are indeed jumbo. They are great so far!
I used Göldo WS012 on all my guitars . They are durable and made very precise.I noticed that the wear rate is huge - i play the same guitar avery day for a year and a half ,no dented and pitted frets ! The quality is superb !
One of my old guitars was in need of attention and I fancied higher profile frets like most new guitars come with as I am getting to them.
These have a accurate profile that took little work to level and seem fine so far. Have to wait to see what the wear rate is like but having quite a few guitars to use these days and being 59 I don't think they will wear out in my lifetime.
Haven't used these yet. But obviously they are good quality products that'll be useful in a refretting or partial refretting project. You want to try your hand at luthiering, here are the basic elements you'll have to acquire.
