Super cool concept for a mic stand. It has only 3 simple screws to adjust. So it doesn't swivel around or end up in a weird angle like other mic stands. It's quick to get it to the position you want.
The clamp is brilliant and lets you swap mics quicker. It works even with some lighter condenser mics, though then the mic should be upright or it could fall out.
I've used it on guitar cabs, acoustic guitar and saxophone.
Overall great, I use it on everything except vocals which it's not high enough for.
Overall this is a great little mic stand. I use it to mic up electric guitar amps, and also to mic up accordionists, banjo players etc who are sitting down. I've also used it in studio to hold a small condenser mic on a guitar.
The main down side is that if the boom is extended to it's maximum it can be a little unstable, and sometimes it feels a little loose. But normally I wouldn't have it fully extended, and to be fair I've had this a couple of years now so it's been through the mill and is still standing!
I use Hercules stands for all my guitars, and now this one for my mic. Perfect quality and they last forever as far as I can tell. Very stable and easy to handle.
Bought this mic stand to have it on my desk.
Really good quality and super strong.
You will have to "tape" it to a surface or to put bricks on it if you plan on using it with a heavy microphone (sure sm58 tye of mics are fine as they are really light).
Still use it, still love it.
This stand is great. Have used it on kick drum, on the front and back of a cajon and also in the studio holding a rather heavy Rhode NT2 mic on an acoustic guitar. Very sturdy little stand. Breaks down great for touring, taking up very little space. Very stable.
