If you play trombone in an orchestra, this is the best money you'll ever have spent.
Our section leader has been using one for as long as I can remember, and I finally decided to take the plunge and get one for myself. It's a godsend for those long periods of either counting rests or waiting for the conductor to finish working separately with the winds or percussion. Any time you're waiting - no more awkwardly holding your trombone, setting it in your lap, worrying about dinging it - just lock the slide and pop it on the stand!
I'm buying another one for my brother.
I have used this stand for sometime now and it is very stable and well constructed. The great thing is that you can use it on a range of instruments. I've used it on stage for straight saxes, trumpets, flugel horn as well as trombone. It adjusts in height high enough for trombone to keep the slide of the ground easily, but also low enough for smaller instruments to be at a nice height when either sitting or standing at a gig. I would definitely recommend it, the only down side is the size and weight when folded, it won't fit in your instrument case!
It's a good looking, solid stand. I use it for a marching baritone and a flugelhorn (yes, it fits a flugelhorn too).
When using it with a trombone, it tends to be less stable, it falls on the side of the slide. Maybe a bigger or heavier base would help.
Anyway, I actually plan to buy several more, for other instruments.
This is a functional trombone stand - it is sturdy and holds my trombone. It is adjustable, so it will hold bass trombones without a problem. Great for classical applications where the composer forgot Trombones existed or for jazz applications where more than one trombone might be needed for a set.
Following recommendation from my Trombone teacher I purchased on of these and it's very sturdy (but also light) and folds down small enough to be carried. Excellent as the trombone can be quite awkward if you're just waiting to play in a band situation. Also does not take up a huge amount of room and is very stable which is what you want in a stand. Good sturdy construction.
Very nice and steady stand, I have 3.
There is no way the trombone to fall.
The first one i bought 7 years ago has lost partially its paint due to the moisture of the trombone after the usage.
Stable quality stands of which I have 3 our band too has three. The only weakness I see with this is the knob at the top, will either wear off and get lost as it is loose. The problem is to find replacement for the rubber top. I used to hold the instrument in hand even during long preaches, but can rest when not playing.
