I got this stand for my ukulele. The stand itself is really narrow and low so it keeps the instrument well on display.
The plastic doesn't look like wood upon close inspection, but you won't notice from a distance. The parts that are in contact with the ukulele are made of soft rubber and thus won't do any damage.
I highly recommend this stand for any small instrument such as a ukulele or a violin. It is especially great for putting the instruments on display - I keep mine next to the TV and it looks great.
Needed a small stand for my violin and this one does a great job - it's light, very portable - it's plastic, and the finish of the clicking parts could've been just a little more refined but then again, it's not too expensive and once it stands you actually don't see those bits.
From the product description in Thomann:
- "For small string instruments such as violins or ukuleles"
The instructions also showcase the use with a violin and an Ukulele.
I bought it for my son's Ortega RU5-SO Soprano Ukulele and it barely fits while at the same time being very prone to falling down.
A bit disappointed of the design (mostly by the dimensions and the stability) because I am a very big fan of K&M. But for the price - no damage done. I can put my tablet or a book in there.
I would happily buy an improved version though! Go K&M!
It’s as cheap as it gets.
The plastic is very cheap and light.
The stand is not sturdy and even tho it feels stable, I wouldn’t trust it to hold a pricey violin. This is a stand for toys.
But it’s priced accordingly, so there’s that!
The stability of the stand for a ukulele is not great. I have three of those and on two of them, the surface of the stand is not perfectly flat. This makes the ukulele wobble a bit. However, this is not really a problem.
The appeareance of the stand is nice (plastic wood imitation) and gives a good impression.
I recently purchased the K & M stand for my Gretsch G9112 Resonator Ukulele and have found it to be just what I needed .
It provides a suitable 'home' for the uke when I am not playing it and allows the uke to become a lovely piece of 'furniture' .
The service from Thomann was first class and I would thoroughly recommend both them and the product .
It feels really plasticky but once assembled (it needs a bit of strength) it's surprisingly stable: the parts lock in place and they don't move a bit.
It's really light too.
It is potentially nice looking because of the shape but the imprinted logos and the color combination are not that nice to me (personal taste of course).
Being made mainly for small instruments (like strings ones) would have been nice to have some kind of bow holder.
