This is a a great stand! I was a little worried about how balanced it would be considering how flat it folds up and the plastic hinge. But upon testing it out with my Takamine Dreadnaught, which is a pretty heavy guitar, it seems to be equally as sturdy as my fully metal stands but its half the weight and packs up so flat it can fit in my guitar bag. Really handy stand to have when travelling to gigs or moving your gear.
This thing is very light so I wouldn't use it full time, but it's fantastic to be able to carry a stand in my gigbag, and you can't argue with the price tag :)
I use this at every gig and it's perfect to throw into a backpack and take with me.
The rubber all around the edge makes sure your guitar doesn't slip and it's a solid reliable piece of kit.
Absolutely recommend!
This guitar stand houses most acoustic guitars well and sturdily enough. The surface does not seem to agree with some more extravagant lacquer/finishes and can leave small prints on certain guitars. The stand carries really well, weights practically nothing and fits in a remarkably small space (backpacks, even some guitar cases, wherever).
I was after a stand for my accoustic guitar to provide a stable and secure way to display the guitar. The stand is excellent value but could be more stable. It is designed to hold guitars of different body depths, but my Recording King is quite shallow and needs to be placed in the stand very carefully to ensure that it is stable. Still recommended, but not really for very shallow bodied guitars.
I use this to support my Kala U Bass when out and about - The cross bar adjusts so you can change width of the lower support. It is light and folds reasonably flat, it fits in the front pocket of my gig bag, with only the tip pointing out. It is useful, and reasonably stable for such a light object. I have tried it with regular guitars at home and it is fine.
