I ordered these flat wound strings along with the Harley Benton BeatBass VS. They fit perfectly and changed the sound of the bass in a very good way.
I typically use round wound strings on my instruments, but for the BeatBass VS, the flat wound La Bella 760 FHBB strings added to the "old-school" sound I was looking for.
I plan on trying the lighter gauge La Bella 760 FHBB-2 as well.
I highly recommend either gauge of the La Bella FHBB strings if you are searching for the original Beatles Sound out of the Harley Benton BeatBass VS-- or any other violin type bass!
I've bought these strings for a Harley Benton Beatbass. They are the right length for that bass.
They give me a very rich fat tone and feel good on the fingers.
These strings are a dream on my Hofner violin bass. A warm, rich, powerful, round tone with huge dynamic range. Silky smooth to play. Apparently Paul McCartney himself used these in the 60s and I can believe it! These strings certainly have that genuine 60s sound.
Put these flatwounds on a Hofner Club Bass and it really gives you a sound similar to a double bass when played with your fingers. With a pick it sounds like most 60s songs. I'd put these on anything now, by far the best flats.
Warm & rich in the lower register, a double bass in the upper one. Highly recommend. Bass soloing after the 12th fret is overdoing it anyway. Stay low & be cool.
Good choice for the Hofner Violin bass, but a little stiffer and less warm sounding than the original Hofner strings. Personally I prefer the original Hofner strings because they play easier and sound richer than the La Bella's.
These strings are overall good, sound how they should sound, i love them. The only issue I had was dead lower e string. Shit happens, you know.. Otherwise La Bella string were always better quality product and sounded some levels above the others..
I've been using La Bella on my Hofner violin bass for a year now and it's the thing if you want that rubbery Rubber soul bass sound! Strings are flatwound and very smooth under your fingers. Still no signs of rust or wear...
I have these on an Ibanez artcore AFB hollowbody bass. They sound almost like an upright bass. Very smooth and easy to play. Suitable for vintage deep mellow and a bit dark sounding I would say, not suitable for every taste
