Pearl H-830 Hi-Hat Stand

For me as a part time 'love not money' percussionist and harmonica noise maker i was after a jazz hi-hat set up with a ride and brushed snare experience. I did my homework for my once in a lifetime high hat stand purchase along with other related kit. This stand is a great piece of kit....the 4 stars for handling is purely a reflection on my own ineptitude and not the stand itself. As a novice to hi-hats I read that the long foot pedal would be problematic....no such issue from my experience...nice and easy feel allowing light motion with your foot ... easy to set the gap and angle of the cymbals to taste..this is a solid stand which gives full confidence that its going nowhere. Totally pleased with this purchase. This is a beautifully responsive piece of solid state kit built to last....love it with the wonderful Zultan Caz cymbsls a-top. A WINNER.

I always have trusted Pearl hardware as in my opinion they make the most stable cymbal stands, including this hi-hat stand. Stable, rotating legs, long, wide footplate, great mechanism - responds to every movement. The one thing I like about Pearl hardware the most - is the screws, they are easy to operate, have a tight grip and have never gotten stuck for me.

The only minus would be the clutch that tends to unscrew when playing the hi-hat open for a longer time, but that can be easily fixed if You screw it a little tighter, depends on Your style.
Overall, a great buy, for this price it's the best hi-hat stand You can get.
