Daddario DP0002B Pro Winder Bass

I have previous used basic cutters from my toolbox, but these were better, so worth buying for that too. The winder itself was somewhat clumsy to use, but still better than using my fingers and the price is not bad. Takes few tries to get the hang of it, as the size of the winder is more or less "one size fits all", so for me they were a bit too big and constantly fell off. Few tries later, when I noticed that easy does it, it worked ok. May not last forever, as they seem a bit flimsy/cheap plastic and in that case I'll get something better, but for now it suits my needs.

I meant to order a guitar one, but I ordered the bass one. I play bass as well, so that's cool. This tool works really well. The pin puller, string cutter and string winder all in one is a must have. I changed my wife's acoustic guitar strings and, although I ordered the bass tool, it worked fine for her guitar.

This winder has it all. Durable construction, the biggest tuning keys fit in the winder, you can cut strings up to .135, no issues to do roundwound, flatwound or nylon. The string puller is something I use less (I prefer to pull them by hand), but might be handy with thinner gauges. Very easy to wrap your hand around, and it turns and cuts very smoothly. a must have in your gigbag/case

This is a must for every bass player out there.
It’s easy to use and the cutter makes it a very “two in one” tool that you always should have in your box.
The only complain that I have is that my example “squeals” a lot, but I shall try add a bit of oil to make the winding easier.

I use take my string winder and cutter pince to change my strings always. But When I saw the opportunity to have both the winder and cutter pince in one I decided to get one of this Planet Wanes Pro Winder. I like it and It does its job.

This thing isn't especially robust and upon receiving it i was disappointed. It does what it is supposed to but i will be amazed if it lasts long.

Edit: Although it doesn't get used that often; it is still going strong. The socket that holds the machine head for turning is far too large for the machine heads on my tele and is often obstructed by the surrounding machines heads when used.

It does what it should, so if you have a bass and wanna speed up the restringing process buy it.

Does the job done.

the cutter is ok. the winder doesn't look durable. it's very plastic.
if you use rarely it would be fine. if you wind strings often maybe it wont lust too long.

It does its' job. The cutter is not very precise but cuts very well. I can't complain. The winder, I think, is guaranteed to fit all kinds of tuners.
