I’ve had the pleasure of using the Remo Encore 22" Ambassador Ebony BD Bass Drum Head, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. Although this drum head is manufactured in China, it maintains the high-quality standards that Remo is known for, thanks to the use of the same Mylar film as their USA-made counterparts.
I’ve used this drum head both as a batter head and a resonant head, and it performs exceptionally well in both roles. Whether you’re aiming for a low or high tuning, the Remo Encore tunes effortlessly and consistently delivers a great sound.
Having experience with both Remo heads made in the USA and various cheaper brands, I can confidently say that the Remo Encore series offers a fantastic balance between quality and affordability. While it is indeed a genuine Remo product, the price is significantly lower, making it an excellent investment for drummers looking to upgrade from budget drum heads without breaking the bank.
If you’re considering buying cheap drum heads, I highly recommend spending a little extra to get the Remo Encore. The improvement in sound quality is well worth the investment.
