Like others, I also bought it because of Rick Dior's advice. But I had to replace the drum head for a Remo Emperor (2-ply) that was not being used.
Be ready to also buy another head, because that Sabian stock one is like sandpaper. You can do your nails with that skin, seriously.
I disassemble it (to replace the head). You need a 10mm wrench for it, because the tension rod ends on a 10mm bolt. impossible to even adjust the tension for your best rebound and noise without a wrench.
Too expensive for what it delivers. and maybe not for everyone. If you do not care about Jazz brushes, maybe Remo 10" is the best for you.
Cons
The skin is coated, but too abrasive. It will eat up your favorite pair of sticks beads in no time.
Too noisy for practising at night. Your neighbors will wake up thinking someone is knocking on their door, or that a woodpecker is trying to break in.
Not completely realistic rebound...
Too heavy to carry around.
The tension rod needs a 10mm wrench to adjust tension and noise tuning.
Pros:
14" size with coated skin is perfect for brush practising.
Conclusion:
I will leave the conslusion to you, but I cannot really recommend an item that has more "cons" than "pros" .
All I can say is that I am returning it...
