I have an Ibanez licensed Floyd Rose but the bar has never tightened down all the way and swings and wobbles. Following a tip on YouTube I bought this replacement from Schaller.
The bar looks like any one FR-bar, with a screw on top. This comes complete with bushel so you can replace the complete fitting including the screws and fitting on the underside of the tremolo bridge if you need too.
I only needed the bar, so unscrewing the fitting leaves you with a replacement bar, which fits perfectly and tightens correctly.
You may be able to get away with a cheaper solution buying the bar alone from another manufacturer at a cheaper price, but I saw differing reviews and didn't want to take the risk to solve this problem that I've been having for years. Fits perfectly!
I was a bit disappointed by this since the arm sits very loose in the housing and not the airtight fit I was hoping for. This makes it very bad if you want your whammy bar to swing freely without wobble in the housing like I want!
I have to find a way to fill up the wobble space with some hard plastic or make a completely new housing myself where I work.
It seems to be a lottery when you buy things like these since some people seem to get one with very tight tolerances and others don´t!
The only plus I can give is for the looks.
It's really true that sometime a little detail makes an incredible difference, comparing with the native arm this one is incredibly smooth and regular and floating is reduced at minimum level, I vividly suggest to upgrade with It cheap instruments where the difference will be more evident.
Replaced the tremolobar of a Floyd Rose Special with this one and it fit's perfectly.
On the product picture it looks like it was in a black nickel finish like the hardware on most ESP/LTD guitars have, but it is NOT, be warned!
The bar is just gloss black.
For the ESP users: Schaller refers to the black nickel finish that matches ESP hardware as 'Ruthenium'.
But nevertheless a very good quality tremolobar.
This is a perfect replacement if you are not satisfied with your tremolo arm, keep in mind that this is the kind of tremolo arm that you tighten with a screw and not the one you push in or tighten by spinning the entire arm, although this product replaces those types of tremolo arms if you dont like those ways of tightening.
I bought a Charvel So-Cal Japan wich have an asian made FRT02000 tremolo, I was not happy with the tremolo arm because it did not stay in place, the screw that holds the arm was either too loose or too tight and because of that the arm was never where I wanted it to be. I bought this instead and after the rather simple switch (I was only required to remove the backplate of the guitar in order to replace it) the arm stays just where I want it! Perfect!
Top quality tremolo arm as expected from Schaller. I bought this to replace the arm on an old JT-590 Schaller FR tremolo unit. The JT-590 comes with a screw in arm, but this is a direct replacement - you just have to remove the housing unit and screw in the new one. A perfect fit.
It dose its job,its made of metal, and fits my jackson Guitar perfectly. It will last as long as the Guitar, as long as i dont take it of, and lose it again.
I needed to replace the entire assembly on a Floyd Rose II and this fit perfectly. The only difference was that the bar is a tiny bit thinner and a little shorter than the original, and the screw is longer. Other than that not a lot to be said. Seems like a quality part and I'm happy to have the trem working again.
