This might as well be my new favourite guitar.
I had read a couple of negative reviews from a few years ago and I was a bit worried about my purchase. In the end I decided to give it a go since Thomann accepts returns. I must say I wasn't dissapointed
The guitar was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition.
Upon removing the nylon cover I saw that the green pattern was exactly as on the pictures. I'm pretty sure the apply the same template on every guitar but trust me its for the best. Looks amazing.
The back of the guitar looks even better and is very nice to the touch, the polish is not sticky.
I immediately plugged it in and tuned it. The machine heads feel quite tight (which I like). This model has locking tuners and I can say they work great. I think they might even be better than the Schallers I put on my Soloist a few years ago.
The setup was very comfortable and every single string was correctly intonated. I couldn't find any fret buzz.
Finally, the pickups are pretty hot. I can't say they sound in any way special but they're definitely up to the job. Anyway, you can always swap them for the humbuckers of your choice after a while.
I really like the single-coil positions on the switch though. You can easily pull some blues out of this guitar.
I can't be sure if I just got lucky or if Solar really stepped up their game but I really think this is a good buy.
Ola, if you ever read this - thanks for the guitar, man. I love it.
