This is a really soft and forgivng cable in the sense that it will just adapt to the shapes that it has to. I did not experience any sort of memory-effect where the cable would want to return to some previous shape.
I've used it for microphone and expression pedal cables.
The cable was easy to work with while soldering and it has extra fibres to make it more resistent against breaks.
I bought this cable for my headphones, because I wanted to have a five meter long cable on my headphones. Don't ask why. The cable is really flexible and relative thin. As I don't use for a microphone, I can't say anything about using it like this, but it is light enough to be used as a cable for headphones.
Like a good pizza base, the Goblin cables are thin and perfectly formed. The outer is flexible but tough and seems hard wearing. A sharp knife is needed to get to the shield-braid and the metalised layer underneath. The tension string seems strong and the twin conductors are small but not insubstantial; they, and the shield, are clean to solder to and require little tinning.
Unlike a good pizza base, the cable flexes well and has no crispy bits yet.
All my z splits and y splits are made with this cable. You can get two of these easily in one xlr connector. Its not the cheapest cable but i have had no troubles with it so its worth it.
I use this for non-stage work where I can get away with slightly less outer insulation and portability is a factor (field work).
It is good quality with a decent number of strands in each conductor and is easy to work with. The inner conductors are surrounded by a metallic-looking material (inside of the actual stranded screen). This material is non-conductive but is easily snipped away anyway.
The insulation is resistant to heat and shrinkage.
Coils well.
I use this mostly for MIDI cables so can't really speak on any audio quality, but it's really nice to work with and always looks nice and clean :) it is very flexible, as you would expect, but doesn't feel weak at all. good stuff!
