Build quality is ok. The cable is rather thin, but the headset is light and robust. The sound, though, is dreadful. Far too much high end, no mids or bass. It sounds incredibly thin especially for male voices. Placement is absolutely critical and 1 or 2mm away from the perfect position absolutely ruins the sound. For me, completely unusable even after heavy EQing. For my use case, I can't spend 15 minutes on every actor making sure the placement is perfect every day. The sensitivity seems to be very variable, too - if the gain is set for speech, then singing completely overwhelms the mic and it distorts, but I'd gain is set for signing, speech is far too quiet.
Do yourself a favour and just get the omni version. I'm sending the cardiod version back.
Intended use was musical theatre performance, but it's just not fit for purpose. Perhaps the omni variant would have been better. We have a few of them already in use. Unfortunately they weren't in stock at the time and we desperately needed new mics. I will get the non-headset omni version instead. Let's hope the current model is as good as the old ones from a few years ago...
