I haven't had the opportunity to test this gig bag in a real world situation due to the pandemic. However, my classical guitar fits nicely and there is built in neck support. There are tons of pockets, which should be very useful. I expected the interior to be a little softer/fuzzier but it's fine. This is a nice attractive option to the standard basic black gig bag.
I bought this bag for my weissenborn style acoustic lap steel and it fits great with just a little bit of room at the top of the headstock area. The additional neck padding is super easy to remove to allow the huge square neck of my steel to fit. But if I was using the bag for a more typical instrument with a small neck then I would put the padding back in and would absolutely trust it to stay secure. The protective foam is incredibly strong and is used through out the entire bag, the straps are comfortable, the weight feels evenly distributed and the pockets provide a good amount of storage space. The overall build quality is great too. High quality zips and very good stitching. All of this for a relatively cheap price compared with other premium bags. I 100% recommend it.
solid protection,,, almost like a case,,, and amazingly versatile,,, i 'm carrying successfully classical,,, es style,,, solid body ( a bit loose though ),,, jazz archtops,,,
especially es 335 feels like home,,, buy fearlessly
After the hinges on my hard case snapped off, I was after something that could fit a small-bodied, bowl-backed 12-string.
Thomann have such a vast range of top-quality gig bags at such good value that it's hard to settle on one, but this one just ticks (almost) all the boxes from padding, build quality, and storage pockets through to weight and carry features. I have no doubt that its durability will be first class as well, but quite frankly, at this price, it wouldn't matter if it fell to bits in a few years -- just go out and by another one. Ok, not very eco-friendly doing that, but you get the gist!
My only small gripe would be that on the back, where the shoulder straps are, it would have been nice to have a large grab handle sewn into the bag instead of a small hanging ring which is rather difficult to hook onto anything due to its small size. A reinforced grab handle would be much more practical to use as both a hanging loop and whilst transporting your instrument.
Other than that, I have no problem recommending this bag.
