I wait longer time to get considerable practic experiences from more gigs and after half year I can resume following:
- THESE HARPS ARE DURABLE, BREATHABLE and a GOOD TONE generally 4 all styles as folk - rock - country with following reservations:
- their tone is not brilliant as Hohner (are cca 1/3 D´n´D - darker+dull)
- their breath response is cca 30-50% slow - if dont have a slave compressor - you cannot use 4fast arpeggiatos or fast runs (e.g. country)
- sometimes - if fast work or long play - their tones doesnt sound= blind holes in logical row tones. It concerns more the low-notes.
- you need a more breath to resonate, flutter or bend a tone... but it is not greatly heavier than other production - and they´re better than BLUESBANDS or TOMBstones...
IF TO ADD TO ANY GROUP: theyre fully competitive/comparable to FENDER BlueDeluxe. Fender´s are little brigter tone.
THE HITPARADE top10:
1. HOHNER MARINE, PRO & BLUESHARPS - after the goldrush- the finest
Long time nothing
2. HERING HARPS-fantastic,but easy destructable - overbreath the plates.
3. TOMBO, LEE OSKAR and other plastics
4. FENDER and/or 5. ROOKIES - really new star!
Long time nothing..
6. HARLEY BENTON Blues and other chinese lowcost- all above meant problems x2
CONCLUSION: ROOKIE Blues harps are a good option 4 beginners; folkers of no-trouble-style as infamous B.D. and partially 4 experienced mussicians with low-budget, needed a reliable instrument 4 gigs, public low-cost use as roaring pubs, howling volwes, non-payable promoteurs etc... I CAN ONLY RECOMMMEND.
COMMENT - this comparision concerns the low-end models of every above meant producers...
4 something better must ask somebody better fate...
COMMENT 4THOMANN staff: pack of G,A,C,D tunning harps WELLCOME!!
