I bought this mouthpiece without doing a lot of research which was a mistake for me. The b45 makes a lovely rich sound on a lighter reed (Vandoren Classic Blue 2/2.5) but for those who prefer stronger reeds, something with a longer facing length would be better. I also prefer a narrow tip opening, and the b45 has one of the longest of all Vandoren clarinet mouthpieces (119.5) which requires a rather tight embouchure. I would recommend this mouthpiece to those players that prefer light reeds and have a tight embouchure, for those players this mouthpiece is ideal and produces an sonorous, beautiful, dark sound in the low registers and a quite brilliant quality in the upper notes.
