Excellent for practice, recording and gigs
SDE 04.01.2021
I like this guitar very much.
It is not a "real" classical guitar, and under optimal conditions the acoustic sound of an high-end classical guitar (which costs a lot more than this one) is better. However, if you have to amplify your sound or to record it, this is A LOT better. When I record using my home equipment, the sound of my classical guitar is not nearly as good as the sound I get from the Yamaha silent. Maybe using expensive studio equipment this would be different, but in any case the Yamaha silent gives you an excellent sound with a very simple setup.
Of course, it is very useful also for practicing: you hear the sound from the strings so that you can practice even without headphones, but with no resonating body you can practice for hours as long as you close the door of your room, and nobody in the house will complain.
I choose the version with 50mm neck width (the "classical" size is 52mm), but the difference is minimal and is only positive - I have no problems even with difficult positions of the left hand. A minor problem is the weak strap attachment.

Very impresed
General Ni 10.06.2019
It's the first guitar that I bought without having played it first and I can say that I haven't regret it!
It's small and light so It's perfect for traveling.
The quality and the construction in general is great, with the only problem on the strap button on the bridge side, that also works as a nut to lock the detachable upper frame, that has the tendency to loosen up, so I always have to keep my mind on it, to prevent the risk of loosening completely and of the guitar falling down.
The playability is very good and the features included are more that I could ask. The only thing that I would like different is that I can't use the jack output and the headphones output both at the same time, it's either one or the other. I find that a little strange, since it could have given more possibilities.
The sound especially with the SRT sound system is just great. I think it has some extra bass frequencies but nothing that I can't fix with the built in bass equalizer.
The fact that there are no feedback problems makes it perfect for using it live, something that I do all the time.
Overall a great guitar that I highly recommend.

Nice design, good sound, but some flaws.
Aidybop 09.12.2016
My main gripe with this instrument is the strap nut design which doubles in function to secure the upper detachable frame. The problem is that they constantly loosen due to the pulling of the strap, which wouldn't be such an issue only that the frame loosens as a result!!
The second problem I have with it is that you can't rest this instrument on your thigh without it slipping about too much.. --due to its lightness, which means you really have to have it hanging on a strap for it to feel good.
The last gripe I have is that it doesn't automatically switch off when not in use. It's very easy to forget to switch off resulting in lots of flat batteries.

On the plus side it's a great sounding guitar plugged in, is light as a feather, and works very well as a gigging instrument.

It goes back
Anonymus DE 09.05.2020
Very disappointed.

Pros
It's a pretty light, comfortable and well-done guitar.
It has no defects, no sharp frets.
I really liked the all-in-one idea.
Just sit in any place of your apartment, put on headphones and play.

Cons
Unfortunatelly all my headphones sound with this guitar unbalanced and muddy.
In general the sound is quite artificial. I can't hear any "magic" in the air, that I expect from the "classic" guitar.
I'm surprised that my cheap stratocaster plugged in a zoom acoustic simulator sounds much better and more like a real guitar.

It goes back to Thomann.
I'm wondering if I should try SLG200S.

Verdict
Too expensive tool just for exercising in headphones.
