Meine Fender Custom Shop Strat hatte, wie viele andere Gitarren auch, das Problem des Höhenverlustes beim zurückdrehen des Volumenreglers. Ich habe alle möglichen Kombinationen aus Kondensatoren und Wiederständen ausprobiert und nichts war zufriedenstellend. Entweder die Bässe waren zu dünn oder es blieben zu viele Höhen übrieg oder das gesamte Verhalten beim Zurückdrehen hatte sich komplett verändert. Ich wollte es schon bleiben lassen und da lief mir der Tone Saver über den Weg. Nicht ganz günstig, aber für mich jeden Cent wert. Es gibt allerdings zwei wichtige Ding zu beachten: Das Ding ist für 250k Potis entwickelt. Nicht für 225k oder 275k! Die Fertigungstoleranzen sind auch bei guten Herstellern viel zu hoch. Also vor dem Einbau das Poti unbedingt durchmessen und ggf. austauschen. Musste ich bei meiner Strat übrigens auch. Und das zweite ist die Einbaurichtung!
Die ist in der Einbauanleitung aber beschrieben. Und schon geht die Sonne auf. Ich kann jetzt bei meinem Koch TwinTone den OD auf 7,5 einstellen, das Volume an der Gitarre auf 5 und ich habe einen top Cleansound. Und dann gehts stufenlos bis zum absoluten Rockbrett und das ganze nur mit dem Volumenregler! Das funktioniert auch im Bandeinsatz hervorragend. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
