Ich habe mir das iRig Mic Video für Videoton für meine Videos mit dem IPhone und für Field Recording gekauft. Parallel dazu hatte ich schon Erfahrungen mit dem Shure MV88 gesammelt.
Das absolute pro des iRig ist die äußerst elegante und stabile Befestigung am Smartphone. Funktioniert mit Magnet und hält wirklich gut.
Der Ton ist zwar besser als das eingebaute IPhone Mic und es hat eine recht gute Richtwirkung. Aber es eignet sich leider nur gut für Sprachaufnahmen. Der Ton ist recht matt und hört sich wie Bandpass gefiltert an. Im Vergleich dazu ist das Shure MV88 (das auch mono cardioid kann) gradezu von brilianter Tonqualität. Und dann auch noch in XY/MS-Stereo, falls benötigt.
Der Nachteil des Shure ist die übel wackelige und instabile und anfällige Befestigung allein über den Lightning Stecker. Das ist ein Witz.
Wer also sein Smartphone in eine gut verwendbare bewegliche Reportagekamera umfunktionieren will, der ist mit dem robusteren iRig Mic Video sehr gut bedient. Es gibt nichts vergleichbar praktisches. Wer Field Recordings oder sonstige hochwertige Tonaufnahmen mit auf einem Stativ fixierten Iphone machen will, der sollte unbedingt zum Shure oder den Zoom Mics greifen
