Yeah, this is kind of "plug and play" amp. Sound phenomenal, very dynamic and "in your face". Pretty bright, but you could easily tame it with built in eq controls. With high output pickup, right speaker and OD in front it can do metal easily. Personaly I played it with Duncan JB humbucker and Creamback 75 speaker. Very raw, open, ideal for 80/90's metal tones. However, the amp is incredibly loud, even in 5 W mode. In my opinion, you can't use it comfortably at home without attenuator. I can play pretty loud, but volume between 1 and 2 is max you can get at home (in 5W mode!). The amp sounds a bit fizzy at such volume. I believe Marshall should redisign this amp with more efficient master volume to make it more suitable for home use. As I'm mainly home/small rehearsal player, I've decided to return the amp. Thomann is excellent as always.
