I bought these wires to replace my PureSound Twisted wires, as they started to stretch unevenly and it became impossible to adjust them and get the perfect snare buzz. These wires needed just a little bit if bottom head tuning to dial in the sound, but they sizzle a lot, have high sensitivity, and are very reliable. Two things did happen while I owned and used them, however.
1. One of the wires snapped, which never happened before. I just clipped the wire and there was no difference in the tone or usability.
2. After much time, I realize the corners of the snare wires wore a hole through the bottom head in one place, and was damaged on the other side.
The second problem I assume from me loosening the side of the snare slightly so that the wires could have more consistent contact with the head, OR it could be my snare itself, as it is a custom build with a deep snare bed designed to be used with traditional width snare wires.
These wires are a great purchase, but be prepared to make some adjustments so that the outer parts of the snare have enough contact with the bottom head, be watchful for any premature wearing of the bottom head.
