I got the Roland VT-4 to modify my voice for gaming and streaming, etc. Not exactly the usual profile of eclectic musician of vocal artist.
When I got it, I was a little surprised that it is so light with a plastic body. From all the pictures I was expecting the usual metal construction of every little black box I've ever used. But it's bit not a bad thing - the quality is impressive, it's really well put together, if not as sturdy as I had pictured in my mind.
The instruction booklet - this is important - DO NOT THROW AWAY THE INSTRUCTIONS! You will need them, for setup and for using the machine, as there are so many options hidden in menus and no screen or computer access to allow you to see clearly what each setting is. The manual is available online, of course, but I made a laminated cheat sheet to have with the VT-4 at all times.
Getting the VT-4 to connect right to computer audio was a hassle, because there are three inputs and three outs to choose from. For Discord, you'll want WET in and OUT out.
