I bought this to replace the hoop clamp on my late-90s Iron Cobra 900 series. The mounting bolt on the old one had become deformed from thousands of playing hours, preventing the clamp from closing all the way.
Installation is very straightforward - it attaches with one 5mm Allen bolt. The Iron Cobra 'Drum Hammer' drum key has the appropriate-sized Allen wrench built in, or any 5mm Allen wrench would do.
The quality of the replacement part seems identical to that of the 15-year-old original. It is a perfect drop-in fit, and operates in exactly the same way.
It is worth noting that, unlike some other Iron Cobra parts, such as beaters, this clamp cannot be fitted as an upgrade to Iron Cobra Junior pedals. Those pedals have a different hoop clamp mechanism which goes entirely under the footboard, whereas the Iron Cobra Para Clamp is mounted at an angle so that it can be adjusted from the side without reaching under the footboard. They have different mounting points and boltholes on their respective baseplates, and are completely incompatible.
