I'm a sound engineering graduate with a few years of experience in professional sound, used to work in Dubai on gigs that were visited by thousands of people, I worked with various setups and equipment, yet I NEVER experienced issues like with that Apollo. I was always told about legendary Universal Audio - those stories were super wrong!
Apollo solo is having a huuuge issues with Mac M1 - it needs changing Thunderbolt slots from time to time, it gets absolutely crazy when in sleep mode, but even despite leaving my Mac during the whole day. I still face an issue of Apollo not responding after some turn-off.
But that's not all - UA Console app that allows racking and power legendary plugins need reinstalling every FEW DAYS - making it impossible to work on that equipment. Right now Console app is not working at all, other day it had only one plugin slot available instead of 4. It's a NIGHTMARE that I paid 1k euro for.
UA support has no solutions - "make sure Apollo solo is powered only when Mac is on" - come on... Apollo solo for Macs has no power button! How else would it be powered if not after Mac is on? Terrible experience!
They also said that these issues are common for M1 Macs users. Why would you then sell a product that is not working on the newest Mac devices? Why I wasn't informed about that?
I absolutely recommend avoiding it at all costs and buying something else, at least you want to go thru that nonsense.
