The remo pinstripe has been in my life for as long as I can remember. It gets a decent sound out of entry level beginner drums, and a good sound out of good drums. But something that not everyone will know is that it gets an unbelievably good sound out of quads or multi-tenors (for marching bands / drum corps). The tonal clarity and projection you get is second to none. Obviously it's better to use the dedicated marching version with the crimplock hoop, but it's essentially the same head, just a little stronger at the point of attachment. If you haven't heard pinstripes cranked up to high tension, then you haven't heard them at their very best. But even at normal tensions they are a solid, reliable drumhead.
