I was searching for a smaller sized pick up for my short scale Breedlove guitar that has a much smaller soundhole than a regular acoustic, so the regular magnetic pick-ups won't fit in. This EMG fits perfectly but how I managed to install it is a different story, let's say you need to be creative... I'm sure it fits perfectly for a bouzouki.
The sound is similar to my other EMG ACS pick up that is installed to my bigger acoustic guitar, reacts the same way, emphasizes the character of the guitar as a magnetic pick up should, works pretty well with regular guitar amps and effects. Actually that's the main reason I use these solutions and don't really fancy piezo. Piezo is not really efficient in a loud environment with a hollow body instrument.
pros
-sounds like a much more expensive magnetic pick up, so it's cheap if you are creative enough to install it into your guitar
-quality is perfect, pots work flawlessly, the wireing makes it super easy to connect
-works well with my tube and hybrid amps
-cuts trough the mix next to a bass player and drummer
-feedback is easy to manage
cons
-if you want a straight out of box solution for your guitar it is not for you
-cable connecting the battery and jack could be a bit longer
