First of all, it should be noted that the guitar arrived in excellent condition to Israel with fast UPS shipping within two days of ordering. No scratches or dings on the guitar. Thank you very much, thomann team.
Pros:
Sound - This guitar is amazing and the warm sound that this jazz bass produces is at a high level (and the electronics are excellent). And can definitely compete with similar guitars that are much more expensive.
Weight - I was sure it would be as heavy as a Fender. In reality ... no. (less than a Fender).
Playing experience - Extremely comfortable. There are the rolled edges on the fingerboard, which are usually not done on inexpensive guitars.
Electronics - Excellent. I feel that Marcus Miller and SIRE did an outstanding job in this regard. (In my opinion, just for the sound and electronics, this guitar is worth a lot).
Cons:
Potentiometers - Feel cheap. Maybe later I will switch to something a little higher quality.
(I used to have a Cort B element that felt better quality in terms of the potentiometers).
Frets - I brought the guitar to a guitar technician (who is also a guitar maker in his own right) to make it comfortable to play, and he told me the frets weren't glued on tightly and in the next few months they would come off and start buzzing. Which made the cost of the guitar more expensive for me in that sense, because it requires taking them out and regluing them, and it takes almost a week, with slow and consistent work, to admit that it almost didn't come off at all. By the way...according to him, this can happen to all guitars that are up to about $1500. (Again...it doesn't have to be, my previous CORT, which is equal to the price of the SIRE, had enough fret sanding.
In conclusion: I am very happy with this purchase. I followed this guitar a lot on YouTube and there are only praises for it.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to order one without spending too much on more expensive jazz basses, because there is no point in paying more. This guitar is simply excellent in the level of sound it provides, even for studio recordings (in my opinion...after taking proper care of it).
