ADAM Audio D3V Black

The ADAM Audio D3V is a perfect choice for anyone with a small or acoustically imperfect studio. These are monitors that solve problems, not create them.

Their standout feature is the built-in DSP-based room correction. In my home studio, this feature worked wonders—it immediately eliminated boomy bass and made the mix clear and reliable. It's like taking a thick blanket off the speakers.

The sound is outstanding. Thanks to the dual passive radiators, the bass is surprisingly deep (reaching down to 48 Hz @ -3 dB) yet remains tight and controlled. The high end delivers the classic, crystal-clear, and detailed ADAM Audio signature, which is non-fatiguing. There's more than enough power (80W + 40W Peak), so the sound stays clean even at higher volumes.

A brilliant and practical addition is the included base, which allows you to perfectly aim the sound at your ears by tilting the monitors by 15 degrees.

In short: If you're looking for maximum precision in a compact form factor and your room isn't perfect, the D3V with its DSP correction is a top contender. Highly recommended.

These are just perfect speakers for my desk. Overkill really. I don't make music, just really like to listen to tunes while I work. Nice and crisp sound. The low-end goes way deeper than you would expect. The volume won't be enough for a party in a medium room, but more than enough for me at my desk. The usb connection to my laptop works immediately without installing anything.

Small comments, but really nothing negative: - The speakers and feet are sturdy, but if someone would bump hard against my desk they probably will fall over. - More EQ options would be even better.

An upcoming firmware update will address two small niggles: the tweeter going inactive at low volumes, and sleepmode options (it currently shuts off after 20 mins, and doesn't have auto-wake). I'm happy that that firmware update is in the works.
