Ideal for wood, walls, and ceilings

Very useful mounting plates for microphones. As I discovered when they arrived, this actually consits of a 5/8" threaded base, and a 5/8" to 3/8" thread adapter. The base is one solid piece, and can take weight very well at any angle, having held large condenser microphones on a wall for a 9-10 month stretch, and still going strong!

Never use with an expensive and heavy condenser mic!

I used the base plate to create an improvised table stand for a condenser mic (the base plate was mounted at the bottom of the desk, with a boom arm attached to it). During regular usage, it broke -- literally falling apart into two pieces -- making my condenser fall down from app 5 ft. Fortunately, the mic survived, but...

Cheap non pro base plate for permanent assemble

I was slightly disappointed as I was waiting for better quality. The base plate feels cheap and the threading is not smooth. I ordered this for continuos use between a table and stand where I screw it on and off often and this isn't good for that. If you use this for permanent mounting, it is OK.

This Base plate is perfect for mounting in walls or woods, or any other materials. I have received one set that has corrosion/rust inside one of the screw adapters, it's working fine though, this is just a quality issue maybe in the factory, I just sprayed some WD-40 into it and it works fine.
