I bought these as an experiment of sorts, knowing the brand from experience to be very good. I replaced the strings that were on a Harley Benton acoustic I have bought and figured these would be better for legato etc and also as the guitar has no truss rod (like many classical guitars of course) in an act of preservation.
The strings are good but lacked the volume of the stock strings, which were presumably the standard basic classical HB ones.
I would certainly recommend these perhaps for younger players, where often there is less care given to the instrument or potential temperature extremes of being in a gig back being taken here and there. With the lower tension, this negates some of the issues of neck warping/bowing - especially an issue without a truss rod. Also, the strings will stay in concert pitch easier, so less of the constant tuning up of the D string etc is required. Of course, at the lower tension, the D will last far longer too.
I guess also, the tension means that it is feasible to have cautiously open tunings, higher than that of the string's prescribed open note. I am often taking the G up to an A, etc.
The G surprisingly doesn't feel too wobbly.
Also good for a frail, but loved guitar that needs to be treated gently.
Don't expect much volume, but these are definitely useful in certain cases.

I got this set to try low tension on my Argentinian Alpujarra 85 classical guitar as I was told it would suit the construction style of this guitar better.
I was using a set of high tension Savarez and the sound was dull with low projection and sustain, while this guitar used to sound magnificently with its original Savarez set.
I tried a few different normal tension and low tension sets and they all improved the sound of the guitar from the high tension set. I know this Augustine set is been around forever, but its new to me and I love it, its crisp with brights high notes and focused lows: literally every string sings in a crisp tone with very long sustain and nice projection. My favourite.
