i swapped out the dimarzios on my rg652 cos they were too hot for me. these are much better and with a three way coil split you get the option of a stratty sound on the rg as well as the Humbuckers tones. i paired it with the dp223 and it's an improvement.
This pickup is great. I swapped it into my Gibson sg in the neck position because I wasnt getting enough output or clarity of tone from the 490r that came stock on the guitar. The difference is remarkable and it sounds so much better than the stock pickup. You can get tones reminiscent of slash, Gary moore or dave murray etc. with ease. It sounds great both clean and overdriven and I recommend you get one if youre looking for a replacement neck pickup with a vintage output that gives you a great, whistling, creamy tone.

All the good things about this pickup have been said, and they are true. I can only add it enhances the character of humbucker Tele's. It brings a delightful flow of high harmonics that are particularly apparent when playing muted strings with heavy distortion.
Don't be afraid to push the distortion to 8 or 10, this pickup has a medium-high output, so you can push it. Also, the plastic frame in pickups is usually shiny and uneven, but these DiMarzio have a nicely flat, and semi-matte, semi-satin finish that speaks more quality.
The poles turn with a nicely firm resistance, and the slotted height screws can be turned with a fingernail or a pick, which is more convenient than a philips screwdriver.
