DW 5002AD4 Double Bass Drum Pedal

This Bass Pedal is not one of those feather like bass pedals.
It is solid and robust DW quality and a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

It has got a solid feel to it, with good attack on the bass drum skin.

You really feel the pedal working in a good way but its still smooth and when you adjust the spring action how you like, it can really move quickly but with a punch.

I would recommend greatly trying different beaters, the DW ones are very head heavy (which isn't all bad) but with different beaters you get a totally different feel and attack.

There are pedals out there with a smoother foot plate for sliding, that being said you can still slide on this JoJo Mayer style with some effort, just not as easy haha, but that's nice for when you want to just sit into the pedal and groove tight.

I would heavily recommend this pedal over the OVER PRICED DW 9000... Jesus. Get this pedal and some hi hats instead.

Ich habe mir dieses Pedal Anfang 2017 zugelegt, da mein altes Mapex Falcon Pedal nach Jahren des Proberaums und Auftretens langsam das Zeitliche segnete.

Positives:
-sehr leichtgängig
-Doublebassattacken sind genauso drin wie gefühlvolles Spielen
-keine tragenden Teile aus Plastik
-gute Verarbeitung (bis auf die Kardanwelle)
-man findet schnell seine Einstellung
(Anmerkung: die mitgelieferten Beater sind recht schwer. Habe sie durch leichte ersetzt)
-Tri Pivot Klemme erlaubt es das Pedal sehr genau an der Bassdrum auszurichten

Negatives:
-die Welle wird nur mit einer Schraube am Pedal befestigt
-Die Kardanwellengelenke waren von Anfang an etwas locker/ausgeschlagen/
(Habe sie durch eine Trick Kardanwelle ersetzt)


Ein stabiles und leichtgängiges Pedal an dem ich noch viel Freude haben werde. Ich empfehle, wenn man viel Doublebass spielt, die Kardanwelle durch eine Hochwertigere zu ersetzen.

Nachtrag aus dem Jahre 2023: Das Pedal läuft ohne Probleme. Optisch sind natürlich ein paar Verschleißerscheinungen erkennbar, aber sonst funktioniert alles. Kein Quietschen, kein Klappern, Gelenke und Scharniere laufen ohne Spiel.
