I upgraded the bridge pickup of my MIM stratocaster with a Seymour Duncan SH-6 (I left the stock Fender pots and single coil pups in mid and neck positions) but wasn't really satisfied. This is the first time I try active pickups, and I can't believe how good they sound. First time I play a HSS configuration that is so balanced in all 5 positions, and the bite, clarity, harmonics, sustain are all fantastic.
After installing this set I do not think I want to go back to soldering...it was a piece of cake and such an enjoyment to do the job! Well done EMG, I will be buying more pickups for other guitars!

89 is just a killer!!!! No words for this pickup set. A minor bug... watch out the instruction diagrams. Seem like that in some cases the directions are wrong.
Ce ne sont pas mes premiers EMG, j'aime ce set très polyvalent en sons clairs ou saturés, crunch, lead et le 89 ( qui est un 85 avec un SA à l'intérieur pour le "split" )plus gras que le 81TW ( qui contient un EMG S ), qui à mon goût permet plus d'égalisations diverses.
Le 81 TW est plus droit et le S est plus criard... mais c'est mon goût.
Et pour les irréductibles EMG ne sonne pas froid mais très précis.
