I used the Ernie Ball earthwood 0.12 string on my acoustic guitar and I thought to get the Not-Even-Slinky on my electric.
I played at the begining in standard E and it was such a mistake, the string were giving big tension on the neck so I got some fissures on it. I gave the guitar to a master to be repaired, and after that decided to go down. I played drop C, but the tension was also big, after that I went to drop A and this is the best tuning for these strings, they're feeling like some Regular Slinkys in the standard E, but the tone they give is so beefy and angry. The clean tones also pleased me, as they're still bright and can give some "glass" type of clean sound, with a good guitar and amp, of course.

I needed strings for bringing my guitar to a Drop C tuning. My first try were the Earnie Ball "not even slinky" strings. I am playing Earnie Ball Strings on all my guitars so i was looking forward for a great tone. However I was not as satisfied as usual. The strings maybe are a bit too thick for a Drop C (I had to adjust the neck after putting the strings on!). Furthermore the strings were hardly fitting in the nut. After setting the neck i tried some dry playing. Sounded okay to me. Some playing through my amp was sounding better. There the sound has a lot of bass und was really punchy. Except one thing: The G String. All the other strings sound good, but the G String is really sounding poor. The string is only swinging for two or three seconds. Maybe it is because the string is a (thick) 24 plain string. If you play chords it is not really conspicious. But if you play single notes it is really annoying. Does not matter if played with amp or without, the G String is really crappy. Concerning the other strings i think this is not more than a three star rating.
