First time using flatwounds and I like it

I can't compare these strings with other flatwounds since it's the first time I tried them, but I'm pleasantly surprised with it.
* Feel: I like the smoothness of the string and the way fingers slide along. It gives a bit of a "fretless" feel.
* Tension: just right for BEADG tuning. The tension is even and strings are not overly tight.
* Sound: Although flatwounds are supposed to sound "warm" and "jazzy", they actually sounded brighter than my not-so-new set of roundwounds that I had previously on that bass. Maybe because of the chrome steel, but there is a nice zing in the sound that I did not expect from flats. It's surely not "only for jazz".
* Looks: string ends have black braids, looks very nice!

Cons: all strings are packed in one plastic bag and different gauges are not marked in any way. You have to look very carefully not to mix e.g. a .085 and a .065 string.

Vor vielen Jahren einmal geschliffene Saiten auf einem Preci probiert.
Damals war ich nicht begeistert. Für meine Vorstellungen nicht mit einem bundierten E-Bass geeignet.
Jetzt, nach jahrelangem Spiel auf dem Kontrabass habe ich diese Saiten auf meinen Fretless E-Bass aufgezogen und bin begeistert. Bässe mit Druck aber nicht überbetont. Knurren der Mitten, klingen "holziger" als Rundstahl. Höhen genau richtig, Flageoletts kommen gut und ausgeglichen. Intonation wird meinem Gefühl nach gut durch eine gewisse Straffheit unterstützt.
Vor allem gefällt mir das Spielgefühl, wenn ich zwischen Kontrabass und Fretless E-Bass während eines Gigs wechsel.

Fazit: Sehr gute Saiten, kauf ich wieder.

bonjour c'est la 1 fois que j'achète cette marque depuis 30 ans j'achète d'addario mais pour des raisons de prix j'ai acheté ce jeux alors ayant acheté celui la pour une basse et un d'addario pour une autre j'ai comparé les si grave et d'addario le filet est plus régulier que galli mais une fois monté je n'ai pas senti de gène et le son est tout aussi bon donc heureux car moins chère reste a voir dans le temps et l'oxydation car les d'addario sont vraiment cool pour durer reste a voir

Après de longues années à jouer sur des cordes traditionnelles (filet rond) , je suis revenu sur du filet plat pour une question de confort de jeu et ces cordes sont vraiment géniales à jouer, un peu plus "raides" que des filets ronds, mais très clean en sonorités, pour avoir une bonne attaque, pensé à augmenter légèrement le taux de compression.
