This class D (switch mode) amp is light weight, mega powerful, and looks absolutely pristine.
Oh dear! - it's got a fan! - I didn't realise before it arrived! - but it is VERY quiet - truly madly deeply honestly!
There is a simple trade off. With no fan (and I was seriously considering one) then if it overheats it has to shut down! - Silence! - in the middle of a gig! - do you really want to risk that ?
The controls are simple and straightforward - and I am used to a graphic EQ and a parametric on the same amp! However, these controls are more than adequate. With everything set at 12-o-clock (and this is a very good test) the amp sounds clean and powerful. I suppose I'd better add NOT the contour control - set this to minimum. I don't like either of the contours, but that is entirely personal preference.
What's with the 2.67 Ohm setting ? Well if you do the maths, that's 3x 8 Ohm speakers or cabinets together.
I was originally intending to use an 8 Ohm cabinet, but couldn't get the right speakers at the right impedance. No 16's with the right frequency response, no 4's in stock, or not at the power rating I really wanted.
Eventually I opted for a pair of 8 Ohm 500 Watt Eminence Kappa Pro-10A. That means I could theoretically hit them with 800 Watts into their combined 4 Ohms. All theoretically within their limits. There is more than enough EQ available with the controls on the front panel to get just about any sound and I'm not one for turning everything up to "Number eleven".
Not really given much time to the Drive channel.
The 2.67 Ohm setting on the back means that I can add one more 8 Ohm cabinet - A 15 inch LF driver! - without any instability. The sound on 2x 10 inch Eminence is perfectly ok to me, with DI to the main desk.

I use this amp for all styles of music and it is so dynamic. I you want a nice tight round bass sound, then this is the amp for you. It's very powerful, so is great for big & small venues. If you like a nice tone as well as a strong bass thump behind it, again - look no further. The drive section I don't really use all that much, it's not really there for distortion, it's seems to give you that vintage tube sound more, if you like that sort of thing. I'm really pleased with this amp, it's light, looks great and solid too.

Der Amp ist absolut TOP verarbeitet, das bin ich schon von den Genz Benz Amps her gewöhnt, die hatten auch schon höchste Fertigungsqualität.
Die Bedienung mit den 2 Kanälen, dem parametrischen EQ und vor allem dem Contourregler (mit 2 Modis) machen die Bedienung sehr flexibel, aber trotzdem einfach und übersichtlich. Mir ist es wichtig, nicht zu viele Knöpfe zu haben.

Wzmacniacz ma absolutnie NAJLEPSZĄ jakość wykonania, przyzwyczaiłem się już do tego ze wzmacniaczy Genz Benz, które również charakteryzowały się najwyższą jakością wykonania. Obsługa 2 kanałów, korektor parametryczny, a zwłaszcza kontrola konturu (z 2 trybami) sprawiają, że obsługa jest bardzo elastyczna, a jednocześnie prosta i przejrzysta. Ważne jest dla mnie, aby nie mieć zbyt wielu przycisków. Kanał overdrive jest bardzo muzykalny i można go naprawdę wykorzystać w dźwięku (na żywo). Podstawowemu dźwiękowi przydałoby się może trochę więcej basu, dlatego odjęłam tutaj 1 gwiazdkę. Ale cóż, można to łatwo dostosować za pomocą EQ... a wcześniej miałem Mesę M6 - może trochę ogłuchłem :-)
Dieser Verstärker hat mich in allen Punkten überzeugt. Nachdem ich den Ampeg VR zurückschickte wegen dem lauten Lüfter und ebenso den Eich T300, der für mich zu langweilig klang. Benutzt wird er zum Üben und für Aufnahmen im Studio. Dieses Produkt macht einen wertigen Eindruck! Habe diesen Verstärker neu, daher kann ich noch nichts über Langlebigkeit schreiben.
Wzmacniacz ten przekonał mnie pod każdym względem. Po tym, jak odesłałem Ampeg VR ze względu na głośny wentylator, a także Eich T300, który brzmiał dla mnie zbyt nudno. Służy do ćwiczeń i nagrań w studiu. Ten produkt robi cenne wrażenie! Wzmacniacz mam nowy, więc o trwałości nie mogę jeszcze nic napisać.
