I used it almost 3 years after purchasing, still worked fine. Just need to be careful about air bubbles, just like with a screen guard on a mobile phone.
When installing the pickguard I followed instructions of a luthier on youtube but I still have some air under the pickguard by the edges. Also it would be better if the plastic came precut because not everybody can cut perfectly with scissors. Not me at least. I like it though. I strum a lot so I really needed a clear pickguard to protect the finish on my Alvarez AD66 as well as keeping the look clean. It is the kind of finish you don't want to put a colored pickguard on.

Managed to place it with a good result but it was not an easy task, it is very sticky so I had to be very careful and rehearse my moves beforehand.
It's big 20x25cm so you can cover most of your picking area, it comes with templates to cut different shapes, I didn't use them but did cut a little bit off and I'd recommend to use a very sharp stanley knife and rulers, scissors will leave uneven edges, they can be filed down a bit though.
Got it to protect the finish of my Godin.

Just completing a trilogy to nurse back my poorly acoustics to health after doing an Otis Redding in China.
I wanted to put a Pickguard on one and there was more than enough left help cover cover the hairline cracks on another guitar.
Cutting and placing the plastic is a little tricky but just takes a little time and planning.
Personally, I like the look of the thin strips covering the cracks, gives it a kind of vintage look.
