People don't enjoy it cause they expected something difference I think. It is made for that stacatto, double bass like sound, and it does it great. You need to do few things to make sure it works properly.
1. Tune your bass after putting frump on
2. Add more bass frequencies on you amp
3. Make sure it is as close to the bridge as possible, and that it's placed evenly across all strings.
4. Enjoy your Pino Paladino Voodoo sound.

Everything goes Sharp!

I was very excited to receive this product based on all the video I've seen but unfortunately the product doesn't deserve all this and doesn't do what it is advertised for.
CONS:
- all notes go sharp after putting the fump. you will require to retune and obviously you cannot do that everytime you use the fump! so that in its own is enough to make the fump useless to many.
- compared to palm muting , it chokes the string. personally, i like the palm muting sound more.

I usually like gruvgear products but this one is not worth it.

Doesn't live up to the hype

I like Gruvgear products. I saw the Fump in their social media feed and thought it was a neat idea, so I ordered one. Colour me unimpressed - it's distinctly unsubtle and it messes with your intonation. It's well made and rugged, but it needs to have softer material or something. It doesn't replicate palm muting unless you have lousy palm muting technique! Nice idea, but poor execution.

Disappointed ... very very very disappointed

I love palm muting and muffled bass sounds plus Im very lazy so I thought to save me some hussle AND while Im at it I could use muting sound mixed to other technique, say slap for example, so this gizmo should take care of the muting part and I can be free to play any technique I like except that it wont!
Sound very uneven but more important it rise the pitch of your tuning up to 1/2 tone 0_0 this will depend on which kind of bridge you have!
I bought it used it couple of weeks to figure out weather was useless or completely useless, turned out its completely useless and Im surprised Gruvgear is an awesome brand
