I bought this book along with a Steel Starter kit. I had just been playing acoustic and electric guitar and felt it was time to try something new. And not really knowing too much about steel guitar i decided to buy this book after looking at the other options on the market.
Easy to follow book and simple layout make this book a very useful tool to start learning steel guitar with. I would recommend using this book as a reference along with other sources like youtube to enhance you playing.

Je ne connaissais rien au lapsteel et cela m'a apporté beaucoup de réponse. Notamment les tirants nécessaires pour chaque cordes. les accordages existant. les techniques de jeux. Pour ce qui est des exercices etc... je ne peux pas me prononcer car j'ai décidé d'apprendre différement.
Ich spiele seit etwa 13 Jahren (Rock-) Gitarre und habe mir dieses Heft mitsamt einer günstigen Lap-Steel Gitarre bestellt, um das Instrument kennenzulernen.
Leider sind die verwendeten Beispiel-Songs nicht sonderlich typisch für das, was man sich unter einer Lap-Steel vorstellt. Auch das online bereitgestellte Audiomaterial lässt teilweise zu Wünschen übrig - das Timing im Backing-Track stimmt nicht und die Licks folgen keinem Metronom, sodass es u.U. schwierig ist, zu folgen.
Für blutige Neulinge in Sachen Lap-Steel oder Gitarre im Allgemeinen bietet das Heft einen groben Überblick in einfacher, englischer Sprache. Allzu hohe Ansprüche an den Lernfaktor sollten allerdings nicht gestellt werden - einige YouTube-Videos könnten ebenso ausreichen.
