Harley Benton MR-Modern PWH

So first of all, the guitar is stunning in the white color. Pictures don't do justice. What you don't see on the pictures, is that the finish is sparkling, very subtle, but' it's a really nice addition.

the pros:
- I adore the sound. It's exactly what you'd expect from a guitar like this. It can do not only surf music or punk, but it can handle high gain hard rock as well
- coil splits with 3 way switch gives you 9 settings, which makes the guitar very versatile
- despite some reviews, I find the neck really comfortable. It does not feel wide at all
- stainless frets feel really awesome, they were setup pretty well, no sharp edges whatsoever
- intonation was spot on out of the box
- You get locking tuners at this price point! It's almost ridiculous! Wow!

Cons:
- The tremolo should be used only one-way. When you bend the strings away from the bridge it does not go back to neutral position. The other way it works fine as designed,
- in the coil split it give you a fair amount of buzz, even with with both pickups selected. It can be a grounding/shielding issue, so I'll be using some cooper tape in the future to see if it will fix it

Neutral:
- it needs a bit of setup, like lowering the action and adjusting the truss rod
- The nut needed some dry lubricant
- the fretboard was very dry. Not sure if it was only my piece, but I used lemon oil to deal with it.

All in all the guitar is a great bang for the buck considering what you pay and what you get. I'm really happy with this one. Anyone who is looking for something more unusual will be very happy with it.

Locking tuners, a solid vibrato, and a coil split are added bonuses on top of an extremely high build quality not just for the price, but better than similar shapes that go for triple or more (and definitely better than your average ~$800 F of G branded instruments). P90 sized humbuckers mean a swap to actual P90’s would be a simple job. Sounds good clean and can handle a cranked 100w with a lot of dirt and boost. More than pleased and I’ve only played it an hour.

Une copie de Mosrite Ventures à prix défiant toute concurrence, c'est assez irrésistible. Oui, mais... Avant de commander cette guitare, sachez que la qualité de finitions est une vraie loterie ! Ça fait 2 exemplaires que je reçois, avec des défauts de finitions différents !!! Des défauts de peinture sur un premier exemplaire, un manche fixé de travers sur le second ! Dans les deux cas, le sillet de tête est trop haut, la tenue d’accord n'est pas bonne malgré des mécas bloquantes et puis le vibrato d'origine n'est juste bon qu'à désaccorder immédiatement l'instrument (un remplacement par un Vegatrem est recommandé, mais il coûte le même prix que la guitare !). Le manche est en revanche assez confortable et les micros font le taf (mais peut-être que ces derniers demanderont un remplacement à terme aussi). En conclusion, si vous achetez ce modèle : analysez (ou faites analyser) votre exemplaire à fond avant d'accepter de le garder et sachez qu'il y aura de toutes façons des frais de luthier et quelques pièces de remplacement relativement chères pour en faire une guitare qui tienne la route.

Gekauft wegen dem Aussehen, behalten wegen dem Sound! Die Gitarre kam gut eingestellt bei mir an, auf den ersten Blick auch gut verarbeitet. Dann angeschlossen und siehe da die Tonabnehmer können ja richtig was! Saubere Cleansound und schön dreckig verzerrt. Surf Rock Sounds sind auch super mit der Gitarre. Ramones muss natürlich auch sein ;) werde die Saiten runter spielen und dann allerdings 09-42er aufziehen da die 10er Saiten sich doch etwas stramm anfühlen bei dieser Gitarre (obwohl ich eigentlich auf allen meinen Gitarren 10er spiele). Tremolo scheint auch ganz brauchbar zu sein bin allerdings keiner der die Teile gerne nutzt aber besser haben als brauchen
Abschließend kann ich nur sagen gute Gitarre für gutes Geld!
