This is my first 6-string bass, and I must say that I am quite pleased that my not-that-big-hands can handle such a beast of a neck. What I like about this instrument is that it provides a ton of tones. It is an active bass, having a 3-band eq, and also the 3-way switch. You can get tones from Jaco Pastorious up to Fieldy from Korn, which is quite impressive. One thing that I still have to work on is intonating it and adjusting the height of the pick-ups (seems that the lowest strings might distort when strings plucked quite hard, and the pick-ups are as low as possible).
I purchased this bass because I sometimes play heavier genres and I wanted to get that growling low B string, and also I enjoy playing chords. Having 6 string gives you more possibilities of choosing the notes for your chords and create some angelic music.
Pros:
-good intonation
-tone versatility
-cool finish
Cons:
-pick-up adjustment (but I'm still figuring this one out)

I'm in no case an experienced bassist, since this is my very first bass, but I'm more than happy with it. Aesthetically, it looks sleek with its matte finish and the wood texture showing through. It's decently lightweight and well balanced, considering it's a 6 string. The neck is thin, fast and very comfortable, making playing it way easier than you might expect. As for the sound, I play through an audio interface and it's really versatile, the EQ is responsive and along with the switch it gives you many ways to shape your sound. The low B is very full sounding on mine as well. The hardware looks solid for now and it holds tuning well. The only minor downside I can think of at the moment is that when it came it required a minor setup and one of the EQ pots was slightly loose, which was quickly fixed with the turn of a screw. Now it plays like a dream with rather low action. All things considered, I highly recommend this bass for someone looking for a good, affordable 6 string.

Definitely the best 6 - string bass you can buy for that price. Beautiful matte black wood. It is sensitive to breaking though. The sound is very clear and the knobs do as they promise and much more. Best purchase I've made.
Please note - not a bass player here, but a keyboard player turned self-taught guitarist.
I did NOT expect this level of quality at this price. Ibanez for sure surprised me here! The finish of the body in matte black looks sharp, the neck is smooth and plays like a dream, the action is set up well straight out of the box, tuners are sturdy and precise and they do hold the tuning very well.
One thing I did notice is that intonation at 12th fret was a bit off, which I assume is pretty normal when the instrument travels through a few countries before reaching the destination. I'm a bit lazy so I didn't yet set this up, but I'm in the upper half of the neck anyways, so all good. :)
There are plenty of tonal options at disposal here, and a lot of different bass tones are covered. I think this is an excellent choice for a first-time 6-string bass. Maybe there are Harley Bentons that would also fit the bill at an even lower price, but I must say this Ibanez definitely delivers in spades! Get it!
