I could honestly speak for hours on the virtues of this shoulder rest. I have had mine for almost 10 years and it honestly feels just as good as the day I bought it. The feet are soft and won't damage the violin, yet the rubber is tacky enough to hold on and not slip like some out there.
Comfort wise, I dare anyone to try to find one any better! I can literally play for hours and not receive the slightest irritation. The foam is soft, yet sturdy. The contoured shape is great because it disperses the pressure evenly instead of just on the inch or so that a straight rest would. It also swivels to create the best fit for your shoulder. It is adjustable in practically every way and it takes some time to locate the "sweet spot" as far as location on the instrument itself, which notch to put the feet at on the body, etc., but once found, this thing will literally be your best friend.
Storage wise, it fits comfortably in my case without needing to be collapsed, and to be quite honest I am not sure how it collapses mainly because I have never had to do so. Anyway, it is a great investment at whatever price point! Believe me, if you play the violin, BUY THIS REST!!!! If you know someone that is starting out and want to give them a gift, BUY THIS REST! It makes the violin SUCH a pleasure to play!

A quality shoulder rest, very good for beginners. I am a beginner violin player and I was pleasently surprised by the product. It fits really well on my shoulder, the height is easy to adjust and it is very easy to place on the violin. The build quality is top-notch as well.

Great fit for my violin, the rubber prevents it from slipping/falling off, good height adjustment, and the padding is great - it's very comfortable and soft, but without so soft that it 'flattens' with use.
