It is a pretty good tool. I don't use it with the Music Nomad cleaning product as I don't really like the bubblegum smell and I don't find it quite as good as the Dunlop alternative. After using fast fret for a long time I decided to change my string cleaner due to quality change. I am glad I found this thing. Much better then fast fret in many ways.
Ich benutzte lange den GHS Fast Fret. Erst den alten mit Holzgriff in der Blechdose, dann den neueren mit Plastikgriff. Als jetzt wieder Ersatz fällig war, wurde ich von der weiter nachlassenden Qualität doch stark enttäuscht.
Der String Fuel ist deutlich teurer als der FastFret, aber in jeder Hinsicht besser. Ja, er ist aus Kunststoff, aber nicht dünn und billig, sondern in stabil. Er ist nachfüllbar, was ich sehr begrüße. Das dürfte den höheren Preis schon kompensieren.
Das Beste ist, dass man damit nicht nur zwei Saiten auf einmal behandeln kann, das Ding ist breiter als das Griffbret (ausgenommen 5-Saiter Bässe). Gut, wegen dem Griffbrettradius kann man nicht alle Saiten auf einmal behandeln. Ein Filz mit leichtem Radius wäre optimal. Das ist aber schon Meckern auf höchstem Niveau. Praktischerweise hat man noch ein Reinigungstuch im Griff und da passen auch ein paar Plektren mit rein, dann sind die schon verstaut.
Der Geruch des richtig satt getränkten Filz Applikators erinnert mich an einen Fruchtigen Kaugummi aus meiner Kindheit (im positiven Sinn), ich komm aber nicht drauf an welchen.
Unterm Strich ist der String Fuel einfach das bessere Produkt und das um Längen.
