I was using the shock mount with the Audio Technica AT 875 R mounted on the K&M 27105. In order for the unit to fit on the K&M mount I had to use the supplied plastic adapter. For reference this is my first and only shock mount
I have been using this product for about 2 years now and during that time I have used it on approximately 30 occasions. The product is still going strong do not foresee any problems. Ultimately this stems from a robust simple yet effective design
The clamping mechanism itself is firm (but not unreasonably hard) which although may be considered as a negative for some gives confidence that the microphone is secure
The clap holding the microphone in place is covered in a thin dense foam which protects the microphone from scratch fixes it in place so it wont slide out when clamped in position and reduces vibrations further.
The elastic suspended the microphone appears to do the job more than adequately assisting in the production of quality audio.
For me the biggest disappointment was plastic (as opposed to metal) adapter supplied with the shock mount although crucial.
So over the last year ive been buying and using some of the 12Gauge Microphones and had been using crappy mic holders or trying to ration out my two other shockmounts that would fit my 12Gauge mics when I do full drum recordings. Now that i know this bad boy works perfectly i shall be buying at least 3 more just to be safe. I recommend these to anyone who buys or owns a 12Gauge mic. Thomann you never let me down!! Thanks
I decided to get this shock mount for my pencil mics (mainly ADX51).
I've been using these shock mounts (as well as other MXL shock mounts I have) on every recording session since I got them.
Durable, easy to adjust, and easily fixable (rubbers will be needing a change after a year or so of heavy use).
